Dr. Mark Zucker, the former Director of the Cardiothoracic Transplantation Programs at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center until November 2020 is presently a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School and collaborating physician with the New Jersey Cardiovascular Group in Chester, N.J. and Morristown, N.J.
Dr. Zucker served as a Director of the original New Jersey Affiliate of the American Heart Association and was a founding member of the tri-state Heritage Affiliate of the American Heart Association for which he served as a member of the Board of Directors from 1998 to 2000. In 2004, Dr. Zucker was voted President/Governor of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and represented the New Jersey cardiologists in that capacity from 2006 to 2009. In addition, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network for more than 15 years and completed his term in 2020. He was appointed three times as the Thoracic Organ Representative for the mid-Atlantic states to the United Network for Organ Sharing and has served as the Chair of the Heart Transplantation Subcommittee.. In 2020, Dr. Zucker completed his term as Chairman of the American Board of Internal Medicine’s Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Exam committee.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Zucker is a graduate of Loyola University Law School and is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and Illinois.
